CASC-OR Ice Race Director Jonathan Rashleigh today announced that a Trial Licence will be available for ice racing in the 2018 season.

This licence will only be available to those who have never competed in a CASC-OR ice race event and will cost a nominal $10.

The details of the program are still being confirmed but the general process for a prospective ice race competitor to become licenced for a single day of competition will be as follows;

  • applicant must complete and submit the full licence application, annual waiver, plus any applicable minor waiver and parental consent form
  • applicant must demonstrate knowledge of flag meanings and race procedures
  • car and helmet used by the applicant must meet all CASC-OR Ice Racing Regulations
  • holder of a temporary one day licence may only compete in an event when accompanied by a passenger who has previously competed in a CASC-OR ice race event
  • licence will only be valid to enter an event for one day
  • Once the temporary licence has been used to participate in an event, the applicant must obtain the required competition licence to enter any future ice race events

Further details on how to take advantage of this program will be posted here once they are finalized.
